Needing FFE-30gal/hr min

An ffe could still help after the membrane. Though I personally plan on using reactors to finish up rather than an ffe or rotos.

Pending on quantity that’s true. I’d replace a couple of rotos with a smaller falling film for sure.

It’s pretty cheap to set up a reactor doing 10 gal/hr. Not peer reviewed of course.

At that time Evonik was the only one’s known widely and especially the Duramem 200 I think is a pretty crappy offering. Maybe it would have done better in the acetone it was originally rated for. Then a little later we tried the BW30 that ethos is still using and that also had all sorts of problems. Unfortunately you were never able to try the Synder membranes as comparably they’ve been really robust and the company itself has also been a pleasure to work with.

I put this together for around 15k and probably would have been 10k nowadays since i have some better suppliers.

It was recovering about 10 gph when full, but it never quite managed that continuously because the tank was too small and needed to be topped up constantly. Doing it again, i would have sized it at 20 gallons holding volume instead of 10.

There are some videos of it fully put together and running on my instagram @magisterchemist

That’s what happens when you set the membrane in a different solvent then you use

Even going back to original solvent set it was pretty meh. I think took my starting crude from 68% to 73% while holding onto a bunch of acidic cannabinoids. I’m sure they have better parameters now. We were the first 4040 they ever sold. Their customer support (at the time at least) was pretty laughable too. We were doing a ton of their R&D for them while paying huge $$$

Well to be honest, the performance wasn’t great in the original solvents either.

You cant expect the membrane to perform correctly in a different solvent then you set it in

Dr Kumar was very specific about this when I talked to him about his membrane, each solvent causes the membrane to set at a different size as each solvent influence the polymers differently

I bet if you had set it with ethanol you wouldn’t have had this problem

You don’t understand what I’m saying. Yes, that’s true. If you set it in methanol and use it in ethanol, that won’t work great. But having set it in methanol, the performance wasn’t even all that good in the methanol it was set in.

Hi there, send me the details.

Did you order them overseas yourself?

That price is steel only or with the output pumps and vacuum?
