Vacuum dynamics is very nice. I’m wondering now that yall have shed some light on this if I should just get a 1 liter distillation kit instead of a 2l kit with 1l bottom flask. I’m probably never going to have more than 1l worth if I’m being honest with myself. Best Value Vacs has a nice 1l setup.

1l system with mantel from BVV, already ordered 2 single cows to ditch the triple and perhaps save the tails for the next batch(advice if that’s a thing or not).

I’ve been reading every night and watching videos trying to learn this stuff. I have read thru several thousand posts of so many successes and failures. My favorites so far was the ‘I make terrible distillate’ and ‘Piecing together a small SPD’.
I have a Variac coming and some of those thermo couplers. My plan is to use the Bucket Tek on some freshly dried bud. Winterize and filter(still have to finalize research on these if you have a tried and true method). Recover what ethanol I can with an alcohol distiller then send it to the hot plate for a decarb and removal of the rest of the ethanol.
The main focus of my research so far has been the distillation itself. I’ve taken several pages of notes on times, temps, tips etc…I’m ready for that shit(I hope lol). Where I start to get confused is what filters do I need? There’s a lot of different opinions. There’s paper filters, DE layers, cbleach etc. Any teks out there I can study. I’m sure I can answer my own question now that I’m starting to research the prep stages but was just curious if anyone had maybe gone through some different methods before they settled on what they’re using now? End goal is completely removing the terps for stealth(personal) so any teks that were harmful to terps would be ok.
Let me know what yall think. I’ve got about 3 to 4 weeks to pick your brains

I understand how you’re approximating 90g distillate down to 70 based on one pound…how do you come up with 228ml of crude? Sorry if this seems trivial.
