I’m teaching a friend how to run his RDWC system. It’s been an uphill battle of explaining the important nuances that are make or break to be a solid gardner/ farmer. I once was a terrible farmer who was cocky and arrogant about what I “knew”. I’ve easily lost over 100k to my mistakes in my time growing. Best/ most expensive way to learn. Now I just seem like an overbearing prick when I correct farmers who are making the same mistakes.

Shit I’ve been at this for 8-9 years now. I’m envious of farmers who can play in their gardens… new methods of growing/ experimentation.

I’m easily looking at 20+ man hrs over this weekend thinning

I love my cloners, been using them since day #1! Never even learned how to root them in domes but recently been having a tough go with the resi getting dirty. I’d suggestion getting the process of cloning in rockwool down before or while you go the aero route. Nothing worse than staring a run off with sick clones.

I was trying to dig up some pics of my cloner setups but can’t seem to find them anywhere, pissed. I run 3 128 site w/ wort chillers.

I did dig this up while searching though, looks like I’m going on 9 yrs myself! LoL

I have to admit although I have been “finding” things to do I’m definitely stepping in there more frequently than I need to. I told my partner we need lab coats as a joke and he was all for it so I guess we’re going that route LOL temps have been stabilizing at high 70’s, RH about 60%. Only thing pissing me off is water temps. Gonna have to freeze bigger bottles of water at a time. Partners out of town so I’m passing every 24 hrs to do maintenance. Scary not knowing what’s going on though. Happy thanksgiving btw guys!

Nano oxygen bubbles ftw!

You will be fine with rapid rooter. Keep ur water temp @68f always. Keep the water moving and oxygenate with nano oxygen. If u can, have main res outside grow and pump water continuously between the two. Mag drives or better and bigger than u need. Don’t want the pumps overworked and overheating. Ever considered adding another res/aquarium for guppies and tilapia and cycle the water through all 3. Plant emulsion feeds the fish and fish emulsion feeds the plants. Fish selection determines sustainability.

Continuing the discussion from My first 5’x5’ DWC setup!:
Turn ur pumps off for 15 minutes every hour, keep the water fresh. I dip cuts in hormone and put into collars. Usually 2+ cuts per collar. Most I’ve done is 7 per collar with near perfect results. 1/4 strength botanicare pure blend pro hydro bloom. To clean em after they empty I pour in 1 litre of h2o2 30% and let pump run for about an hour flip the collars and let it run for a bit more. Drain it and wipe it clean and fill it back up. U could easily get 1000 clones per week with those 3 machines. I use mag drive 1150gph pumps btw they run cooler then ezclone pumps. Happy snipping

I won’t be working with many cuts. At most 2-3 from each potential mom. The feminized White Widow I’m not cloning just gonna flower her. Kinda regret even popping it since I have so many regulars to weed out (pun fully intended) Best case scenario I’ll be flowering 4 under 2x315CMH’s. Can’t wait to see what kind of heat that’ll produce haha.

Have you looked into chillers yet? Your gonna need one.

I haven’t for this setup. I’m gonna have to stick with frozen water bottles until I scale up. Right now my system doesn’t use a control res so I’d need multiple chillers and I’ll be constantly adding and taking away buckets. It would be a huge hassle and I haven’t even looked into prices but I imagine multiple chillers would be pricey.

It’s very simple to setup. Check out my cloner pics, you’ll see they are cooled with wort chillers plumbed to a separate resi. You can make the wort’s in any size you need. I’ve been where you are, adding frozen bottles, it’s asking for trouble. $500 and I think you could have it all setup, plus it’s wintertime so the extra heat thrown off by the chiller will help keep the oil man away! Win Win!

RDWC is the way to go. Fully automated ph control and feeding. RDWC with full cmh lighting… can’t get any better than that.

Plus 1 chiller for all the buckets.

That’s what I run now. Chilled rdwc with ph control and RO water. I have 6 ladies and last harvest proved why I do this. Two of those ladies each did 1040g exact! They were 6ft tall filled their 3x3 space. Each plant runs under an hlg300w. So if you did the numbers on g/w it’s outrageous. I base on m2 not gpw.
