Molecular sieve alternatives

You ever get a carryover that goes from clear liquid solvent to puffy white foam then back to clear liquid? Before adding 10 angstrom desiccant, I was getting a lot of that passing by my 3 angstrom molecular sieve. Always assumed it was a hydrosol but now you have me wondering if it was a less polar terpene.

I’ve definitely gotten build up before. Only times I’ve gotten a clear liquid in any vacuum lines is on my ovens. If I was driving more solvent, I would probably have more of an issue. The 13x has the same angstrom as 10a. I am going to try a couple runs with flushing it through a column of the 13x, then through another one for vapor. Then change out the sieve each day and start with a new one in the morning.

Be weary of the ball dust getting moved around with the liquid. I would guess some of those particles can be sub micron. Fwiw, I was changing my 3x36 3A & 3x36 10A out once a week while recovering from 200lbs biomass.

I inject through beads for the distillation pot which cleans the dust then dried and used in the other sieves. Leaves the dust in the last few lbs of gas i don’t recover during distillation and sub micron filters on all sieves. Regularly check the inlet valve of your pump and you’ll know if your pulling dust.

ass end the filter and you can always redistill if you think powder got through and is in your lines or valves. Ive even put the beads into the collection and soaked butane that i hadnt mole sieved multiple runs. I use felt on the mole sieve and now ill use papers now that you guys have noticed an issue.
I have a question? I read summits thing on the sieve and he was saying the hemi domes are so critical and the pump creates an effect. Does mole sieve work fine passive? Mine is kinda pressurized with tane but ill leave it like that till next run.

In my experience yes the hemi lids do work better, noticed it yrs ago when a worker wouldnt dry material correctly and id end up with water in the tank. Only change was swapping to hemi lids and drastically reduced the amount of water and the i fired him and dried properly and havent had any since. Just my experience but his reasoning in the treasure cheat seems plausible and matched what i was seeing, eitherway cheap way to make or not they still seem to run a tad faster than flat caps

i guess all my lids are hemi but collection. i got 3 hemi domes all wonky and finally they sent a flat one that worked so i accepted it. thats china for you but hfs ate all the shipping back and forth and took a loss so i aint complaining. It may have been the gasket? I have some hard ones now that seem sealable on the 12 inch hemi dome. with my rubber gasket it just wasnt seating so i wouldnt try and use it. its def wonky, you shouldnt force gaskets in place, i havent ever used it or mounted valves and guage.

It’s always a comedy show when people claim they invented something in an industry standing on the back of technology from the 50s (1850-1950s)

The expansion chamber is tied into the collection pots heated jacket via 1.5 tri clamp on his systems. I don’t see how it’s gonna collect on condense any terps being heated but it will keep your recovery path clean and help with boil overs getting sucked into you seive. Dm Kris Krumble on fb and he will get you some more info. I live his sintered disk. It has all the papers built in and clamp down with the removable sintered disk. I’ve done so many runs on this thing with changing em too. Preatey neat design. Kris is pretty innovative. Shit I just realized this was from 2021. Fuck it imma just post it anyway lol.

Got pics of the sintered disc @Stonebolone

Yeah man. The papers go on each side of the fitted disk. And the sintered disk is below the fitted disk. Takes the load off the disk.
