Let's see your set up!

I keep/ kept having issues clearing the coil even with hot water and a pump behind it. I think i figured out it was nitrogen in the system. Ill see next time Th one part without a guage is the recovery and i should add it via a jic and short hose to a guage.

Got a pic of your setup thumps? Maybe I can help you unclog your coil.

its standard. I think it was nitrogen. I use the same coil injecting and recovering. I push it clean with n2 on the intake but on the ass end even with a pump or heat I was stalling. I learned now to do the n2 purge at the ass end. I would do it in collection and presume it was gone.

Try adding a 3way T on each end of the coil with a ball valve on each end. On the in port, in addition to the ball valve add a quick connect so you can isolate coil and do a N2 push when it’s clogged. Might be ice build up from moisture. On the out port of the coil in addition to the valve add a prv just for safety. You can also vent any excess N2 pressure from that same quick connect on coil if you wanted too.

I need to valve off the coil and its a non issue. Then the only issue is dont seal it up with cold fluid other than to move it. My issue has been the coil on the ass end. It gets full and then I have tons of valves but not any on that part if I wanna move the recovery while it has the coil going into it. I heat the coil but then its still spurting liquid. I think it was n2 in my recovery. I figureed out now to purge the n2 out the ass instead of the collection so with the ass end on dry ice it shouldnt be an issue

But N2 would assist with pushing not clogging….I think it’s going ice build up.

not if n2 gets into the end tank. pressures equalize and it stalls even with a pump/ I have been breaking all the rules- my tank sits in a freezer. there have been times i opened it to a shimmer of hydrocarbons ready to blow. now im getting to jut buy MORE AND MORE dry ice. the goofy thing is= I dont sell oil at all except one old friend and he likes dark colored shatter. I make crc gummies though= blue raspberry plus yellow shatter into decarbed oil makes green gummies.

Oh I see what your saying now. Yeah totally just bleed pressure, safely of course. Consider buying a sending solvent tank to move pressures around and even save some to use head pressure with as to not use the N2 so much.

ive gone though 1.5 tanks of n2 and that was mostly testing the system. I wasted alot of n2 not just not sharing the testing= IE test one column but dont dump it, use the n2 in that one to test another vaced column/collection. My point of that was- ive used 1.5 tanks. I think i get this but im obv a beginner. I have extracted since before most of you knew what hash oil was. Bt i dont do it often so am still a beginner. My first honey oil attempts were 2002 I dont think they figured out to run the butane through it or it was a big secret like wilbillytek.

I think my point was meant to be- yes you all have a ton more experience than me. But i got alot figured out. It doesnt make you all better than me because you do 20 times as many hash oil runs. Im busy here cutting cages to tie plants into while your hash oil machines sit idle.

Where are you located? Blasting room for ethanol!? That’s a rough one

Also, doesn’t having that roto in there completely negate any of the other protection?

Ethanol requires C1D2 not C1D1. Therefore you can have the rotovap there as well.

I would think it would still need to be explosion-proof if it’s inside the booth?? if not it’s a possible ignition source

very pretty, but that sightglass and valve coming from under the centrifuge wigs me TF out, 100% tripping hazard. not an OSHA-width walking lane. I’d highly recommend getting a couple 90-degree or 45-degree adapters or something to shoot that at an angle toward the rear wall–or something. ideally that’d be flush with the front of the unit and pop out somewhere other than the walking lane

Ymmv according to your fire Marshall

No doubt, that tripping hazard takes removing that rotoball to a new level of skill!
