Let's see your set up!

I’ve frozen just about everything at least once.

You think this would work on a shotgun condenser for recovery?

Maybe open top @FicklePickle style so don’t have to worry about pressure. Fill it with solvent, lower your ln2 line in it and hit it with a (I believe the term you used was) “itsy bitsy” amount of ln2 regularly?

I have 2 of these. They work wonders

Ln2 will work on a shotgun condenser, lc02 will not

Great explanation . Thanks for the knowledge.

Just curious, what is the wash process?

I’ll look in the other parts of the forum since it’s probably posted somewhere

Distillation is the “wash” he is referring to.

Aaaaah thank you!

Nice setup! What are those blue clamps called?

why is this?

It’ll form dry ice on the outside, not giving all of the “tubes” coverage. Ln2, granted boils off extremely easily, will ensure all of the tubes are being cooled. Not the same, but kinda like just dry ice in a condensing coil doesn’t work as well as it would being a slurry. I know that’s not the same thing, but I hope you get what I’m trying to say.

The liquid of ln2 will be able to get in between the lines “tubes”. The lc02 will just form dry ice around the outside and when it expands it could do some damage to a standard tube in shell (shotgun) condenser.

Just added another column to accompany my other column ,my 2 small tanks and larger as hell collection…also have everything otw to go a 3/8,recovery hoping speeds up my recovery bc I know I can’t get it any colder. U dissolve enough dry ice in denatured alcohol or ur choice solvent then eventually its like adding cubes of ice and doesn’t react thats when I know I can’t get any colder
.anyway here she is before recovery and this is storage. I run shed tek… in shed if it burns no body gives a fuck

She just keeps growing added anther material column ill be a 3lbish rig and need one those big boy tanks and collection

Upgraded the recover side to 3/8" lines and jics

Now I need bigger tank and collection pot

Damn looks just like the hangers I made for my column

Do these just get screws in the wood to hold up the column? How much weight can a wooden rack support?

No these are hanging style clamps so if a spool needs to be removed quick I can. And the 2x10’s grk’d into the wall is more than enough strength. Have had no issues

In the above picture I made those hangers and set the on my rack there’s 2 per column they work great. I can lift the columns right up but they won’t fall off for chit

I’m liking that a lot. I fight this 12-inch monster. I’ve been using a bucket and lab lift.
