I almost bought one last week for annealing glassware, kind of thinking about picking up lampworking in my (lack of) free time.
I think most use a regular vac oven for baking out their glassware, the vacuum is a nice benefit. Same for media, some use a microwave instead. As far as a properly high temp kiln, I suppose @cyclopath might be recommending that it would clean fines/kief off a stainless mesh sock pretty nicely
