Who said anything about processing or altering the HTE portion? Its can be done but isnt inherent to the process.
What are your thoughts on if there isnt any post processing on the HTE. If one simple separates the THCA and HTE, decarbs the THCA, and then recombining without altering or processing the HTE?
There are a lot of threads on here discussing and debating the merits of both decarbing with and without separation.
Some claim there are flavor differences when decarbing everything together, and see it as a fairly simple step so as to not expose the HTE to excess heat.
The original poster said they winterize and purify the HTE portion. I’m just picking their brain.
IMO no post processing/filtering the HTE, and then recombining to decarbed THCA means you’ve got a full spec live resin product. That’s just how I define full spec though, and I consider LR to be a full spec product.
If you don’t have a way to capture the terpenes that are evaporating out during decarbing, the flavor profile will certainly be different. I’m just here to say it’s possible with a jacketed reactor and using a condenser for capturing the more volatile terps. Far fewer steps and far less transfer loss = much greater yield and a full spec product. Never have any residual solvents show up on testing either.
i disagree. if you have fat and waxes in your live resin you did something wrong in my opinion. but agree to disagree haha and i personally dont separate i decarb everything together in a pressure vessel purged with nitrogen, just saying there is more than one way to skin a cat lol
We can purge solvent in the spin tech. Purging the isolate and HTE in minutes with a push of a button we’ve got a scroll pump built in. Dm us for more info @spintech.purge
