ChatGPT gives you something like a first draft of a summarization of whatever you’ve asked about, as written by someone who knows nothing about it, and just googled the topic extensively.

It has zero knowledge of anything. All it really does is analyze the strength and commonality of connections between words, and use that to spit out a response.

It’s frequently wrong, sometimes laughably so about large details, and sometimes in ways that are subtle and difficult to notice if you don’t already have knowledge in the area.

It’s rather entertaining to see what it spits out for long complicated chemical formulas.

It’s recently started adding language along the lines of “every process of the type that you’ve asked about it different, and there are many different factors that one must taking into account when designing processes of this type, and extensive experimentation is likely necessary to validate the proper parameters for your specific process” to just about every query.

I’ve tried telling it that I understand that and it doesn’t need to tell me, but it still does.

When they successfully figure out a way for it to have a knowledge structure underpinning the spitting out of words process, where it can check it’s own work… then we’re really in trouble. Until then, it’s still just a braindead tool. A very interesting and useful one, but just a tool.

Braindead? CGPT is a divining rod. Chat GPT has demonstrated several things about people.

The people afraid of ChatGPT are typically people with shallow understanding of a broad range of topics, as those will be the first people to be replaced by this script. These are the same people that act like every new event will irrevocably change the world.

The people overwhelmingly excited about chat gpt are typically the type of individuals that add no value to their environment, and instead leech from the resources of others. The scammiest and scummiest of people have been in this category so far.

Then there are the people who played with the new bauble, realized it was just a search engine summary tool, and went about their lives. These are normal people unlike the aforementioned conspiracy theorists and pond scum.

Remember how these people were when it came to crypto and nfts?

the real secret behind chatgpt

The problem with chatGPT is that it’s artificial Dunning-Kruger branded as intelligence.
