It’s not diamagnetic. I don’t see how paramagnetism would be observed just watching a stir bar spin.
Do some more research. @EverettMarm
I don’t debate you to see what is, just to see what you think you know. Lol.
I have no problem getting water clear terps.
Results are the greatest form of evidence. Figuring out how to repeat the process across various set-ups is a separate step.
Gotta love clean terps. Are those distilled or separated with filtration?
I know that a few inexperienced people are bragging about how great heat blocks are but ever used a aluminum heat block and or placed a aluminum object between your spinner and spin bar.
I know that at least.
You don’t know that, which makes this really funny. That you haven’t experienced how crappy a aluminum heat block is with cannabis distillations; but you’re defending it. And you don’t even know what happens when you place a aluminum heat block between your reaction and the spinner.
I bet you aren’t using a heat block.
A heat block vs real mantle are two different categories with their own problems.
- A heat block can supply fairly consistent heat, though it might settle in lower than the set point.
- A Mantle overshoots pretty much every set point ever.
With that said… A mantle (aka your Chinese garbage) vs a Heat Block that transfers heat from a hot plate for terpene distillation…
I would be willing to settle with the hot plate and Heat Block… But also a Chinese mantle works pretty good with a low setpoint and no top insulation / heat. Both are viable options.
With a mantle it takes very precise temperature control… something I personally have never seen from a Summit disty setup. (Our syster co has a couple units - they all suck and the generic Chinese shit is better).
Terpenes do not require a large amount of heat so this whole argument is pretty much moot.
Unfortunately you are wrong about most of what you said.
Heat blocks are used for ambient heat management. They lack efficient method of maintaining heat energy while the internal solution is being cooled from distillation.
You can only maintain somewhat accurate temp on a heat block when there is not energy being removed. They just maintain heat energy for sitting objects.
Heat blocks also have spinner weakness issues. Paramagnetic effects with materials. And generally weaker spinning strength for a spin bar.
Something you don’t get, I suspect you are using a short path and just getting a drip here and there. So that tells me you aren’t exactly at the top of the terpene distillation game. So you probably haven’t seen any effects of heat reduction solely because you probably
A. Use a mantle anyways
And or
B. Aren’t really on the edge with any hardware.
Heat blocks simply suck. I am sure you don’t even use them becauae like myself using mantles we both get better results. Arguing to use a heat block is just going backwards.
Here I’ll give you a bit of a heat block secret. When maintaining thermocouple temperature control via PID from say the liquid in the flask…
…the transfer of heat is extremely wild across the block making spike temperatures being a actual thing.
This is unwanted when doing terps.
Heat blocks for distillations aren’t ideal and they just plain suck. By the time the probe in the fluid sees the temps that have travelled from the sides of the glass, the block will immediately be very hot and temps still rising.
The block opperates at very wild swings and doesn’t allow the pid to accurately control fluid temps.
I do miss this entertainment. ![]()
I literally need not say anything more…
“being a actual” coming from the one person in the entire industry that does not know how to properly use the word “an” in front of a word that starts with a vowel. OMFG. 5yo text that I have to interperet.
This is 100% your personal opinion. I would suggest, since you have nothing positive to contribute, you keep your opinions to yourself egh?
Btw, keeping you in a state of being triggered has been fun. ![]()

I was like, let’s see what 4.2k is up to…immediately dip into an argument about heating elements or something.
Gotta love this place.
Lmfao its just spdking getting all the other short path and distillation people riled up
My guess.

That would be the kind of Machiavellian shit I would expect. The stories we could write about this fucking industry…
Kuato here is a riot.
@qma how about a meme with Connor/Kuato coming out of Elliot’s stomach?
It is 100% Elliot… no one on the earth has that fucked up of spelling habits… Shit is like a sore thumb.
Like holy hell. It would literally take an ultra-trained AI to replicate his level of ignorance towards known facts.
No one else on this planet is dumb enough to regurgitate such ignorance. At lest that I know of…
though if it is possible to be someone else with the exact same references and knowledge of unknown circumstances… I would think they are a clone… Or just Elliot pretending to be someone he is not.
Aka -Connor
They’re distilled. For the record, I’ve never used a heat block for distillation of terps, but I recognize it is a tool that can be used under the right circumstances/controls.
Kuato over here not only can’t calibrate instruments he can’t seem to operate a hot plate.
It is “connor” from canada… not elliot from summit spd…
ROFLMFAO… of course it is Elliot from summitspd. We all know the truth.

Btw I love giving him a new name like Kuato … 100% Hilarious.
…Still has yet to prove his identity as this “connor” he so claims to be…
Connor’s linkedin must be off the chain because he’s out here customer servicing for cart farm, shitposting for summit and formulating for kik
At the same time
Connor is much nicer to me than @spdking.
This is still my favorite post
The best part is him talking “different personalities”. ![]()
