So for a little review of what I believe to be the X-75 ceramic cartridges. They are very similar to the Wolkenteks, or at least the Wolkenteks are very similar to the X-75 cartridges. The difference seeming to be really nothing as far as I can tell. They look the same, hit the same, I mean there doesn’t seem to be much difference apart from the Viton Seals on the Wolkentek V cartridges point blank.
They do seem to have an interesting way of handling the live resin and a live resin/distillate mix. Though I dont want to talk too much about that as thats down to the quality of oil in a cartridge rather than the cartridge itself. I will mention that interestingly when I used live resin in the Wolkenteks I had no problem hitting them at 3.3v and not having the airway clog where as the X-75 clogged the airway with live resin/distillate mix. I find this interesting as the live resin I am using is much less viscous than the mix so you’d think it would be the other way around.
Before the battery they sent I did not have anyway of hitting them lower than 3.3v and I would say anything above 3.3v is not good on the X-75. The wolkentek carts can handle that voltage but the X-75 gets a slight burnt taste when hit for long periods of time. I personally do not use the carts that way but a good thing to know for other people I guess. The taste seems to work best around 2.6v. I would love to see if I could find a better voltage range for the taste but the battery isn’t adjustable to that degree which is perfectly fine. I would assume that the battery voltages are set to best suit the cartridge recommended voltage keeping those who like heavier hits from burning the cotton and coil. Above 3v is definitely not good tasting, as mentioned before.
The battery I received is interesting. It can be set between 1.8v-3v and looks rather nice with the carts. 2.8v seems to do the best with hits when it comes to the X-75. I do have one complaint about the battery and that is when you tighten the carts down, obviously a slight wrist tight and not a torque 'er down tight, it limits the airflow to some degree. Slightly loosening the battery gives you the full flow offered by the cartridge. This happens on all carts that I have at the moment so I would say that a slight bit more airflow going to the base would help a bit. If selling these in a retail store I would also recommend slightly deeper embossing on the box or maybe also printing a color inside the embossing. At different angles you can hardly read the brand and instead it looks like an oddly offset and tiny “Rechargeable Battery” branding though I guess thats me and my OCD giving an observation. All and all I do like the battery. Nothing too fancy but also nothing too basic either. Would be perfect for those just getting into smoking cartridges though I cannot say much about longevity.
All in all I would rate them very close to the Wolkentek V cartridges. I am awaiting the time to get more distillate to give these a sole distillate run. As thats what I mostly use because its a lot of work separating live resin to decarb without loosing terpenes. Especially when you dont have a proper way of separation. I am slightly bummed I was unable to try out different viscosity options. It does make sense though given I cannot find a way to order the different kinds on the site. I would say those are for the big boys and not the personal people. I would have liked to see the specifications of the cart but when you click on that on the site it comes up as page not found. Intriguing given the url links to a pdf.
So, at the end of the day they are nice but the Wolkenteks and X-75 are like twins to me apart from the Wolkenteks seemingly being able to handle higher voltage much better. Thats in my experience but they are so similar its hard to be certain. Build quality, almost the looks, feel, hits, everything seems to be the same. I say that because I am expecting the same outcome when it comes to just distillate and cannabis derived terps.
Though I’m not a distributer I would say from a consumer standpoint these carts are great if they are made for your oil. Nice quality, not cheap and crappy feeling. If I were to buy quality oil inside of these in a dispensary I would be content. Sadly I would not purchase these for my specific oil but maybe buy the outrageously overpriced singles of the XT-75 to see if the hole would make a difference with the different oils I use. I would imagine if the option existed to buy what you recommended previously, a cartridge for medium viscosity oils, I would probably be all in if I had given them a try.
