I used to run and box as a kid. Then I started working for a beer company in sales. RIP my waist size.

I’m back on a diet. I need to do some other working out. I just don’t have 2 hours everyday to ride my bike and shocking the system might do the body some good. I was 211 this year. During covid dropped to 192. Now back to 207.

I need to do something. Lol. I blame all the weed and oil. I always have the munchies. I was thinking of getting some sorta preworkout fat burner drink aka legal speed so I don’t get sooo dopey throughout the day from dabbing essentially all day and night with nothing to do but eat working from home

Lots of beautiful maillard reactions in this thread, I’d love to see a molecular gastronomy or food science thread.

Little known fact, I went to culinary school for a few semesters. Feeding people good food gives me the same positive feelings as sharing some really nice hash with someone. And the flow state in the lab and kitchen are comperable, can’t beat it.

Trucker speed from the gas stations did it for me, but holy shit that was intense.

I was think the same. If I can just curb the munchies for the day. I’d be back to 180 in no time! Lol.

100%! Two of my favorite past times!

Muscle burns fat. Cardio burns calories. You will get better results working with light weights than running or biking. 1 hour in the gym with weight will get way better results than 1 hour of cardio, biking, jogging. Too much aerobic activity actually depletes your muscle mass. This is why most runners have little muscle if they do not workout with weights.
Also never ever diet as they are generally not healthy and as soon as you go off it you gain weigh which changes your body composition. Most people that restrict to many calories and do not lift weights lose muscle and when they gain the weigh back they do not gain the muscle back. Slowly you replace your muscle with fat. Losing weight should be long term and changing eating habits NOT giving up foods you like or starving yourself. Your body is a temple and if you don’t take care of it it will not take care of you when you get old.

You guys kill me! I eat like a fn pig, and do NOT exercise. Minus up and down basement steps 10x daily. And I still never gain weight.

And I adorned my body with piercings, tats. And injuries from sports.
Lol

You prolly have fast metabolism. Watch that processed food like sausage though.
Thin people can also have unhealthy hearts too. You are what you eat. Your lucky you can eat what you want and not gain weight, especially at your age.

Searing steak on a chimney starter is the best I’ve found. Couple additional photos added of things I’ve cooked recently… fresh ravioli, Sous vide pork loin, and seared scallops w/ bacon, mint, peas (the sear kinda sucked on those scallops but whatever they tasted good haha)

The term “pittsburg” for steaks (burnt but raw) came from miners who’d carry a raw steak for lunch down in the mines, and cook them on steam pipes

Ribeye looks juicy

Interesting! I like to cook it slow in an oven or Sous vide to render some fat on the ribeye, then let it rip over the flame!

Oh boy this will be one of my favorite threads. I love to cook. None of this stuff is infused with anything…but could be pretty easily. Let’s see, I’m sure everyone can decipher these. Not sure what order it’s in so I’ll just list off everything below:

We have pineapple chicken served inside the pineapple itself. Stuffed lobster (stuffed with scallops, salmon and some bread crumbs). Sous vide duck breast. Tacos (guacamole was made from scratch in a molcajete and the steak was marinated and seared on cast iron). Venison (sous vide) with a pan sauce and some sweet potatoes. Spatchcocked squab over a risotto and bourbon glazed pears. Sous vide new york strip with stuffed mushrooms and a risotto. Sous vide pork tenderloin and a pea risotto. Chilequiles with a homemade margarita and finally homemade enchiladas with a homemade red chili sauce.

Bon appetit everyone!
