2012, though purging hash oils made with solvents had been around since God knows how long so
… But 2012 is when it really exploded down here. I mean people went from trying to make solvent less hash bricks by pressing down kief into bars… In 2009 like shit man. I remmwbr that shift from a laundry iron to butane poop soup.
Not bad man not bad. Keep up the good work though. It looks nice and light and clear. Get a few more runs under your belt and you’ll be getting the hang of it in no time at all.
Nothing really im just kidding. I mean people used to purge for way too long back then but thats another story.
But really. I dont flip. Zero issues with ppm or purge time
I’m not a shatter guy, but @midsfactory tells me the faster you can flip it the faster it’s finished. He is finishing slabs of shatter in a day
Means a lot, thanks man!
I like to keep an aluminum billet plate in my freezer. Place the slab on parchment on the aluminum. This helps to firm up the slab enough to allow it to be handled easier.
Save yourself some time and dont flip dat shit. 8==D~~
I use a slab of granite from a job i did, you can get remnant pieces of various quarried stone at a shop or your neighbor the contractor vitually for free
I keep a 14x20" piece in my deep freezer,
Pull out and set slab on it gently as needed
Until you can safely flip,
A stone slab is handy for many things, hot and cold, just add parchment and enjoy!
Extra tip, when it gets cold like that it will shatter into pieces if you aren’t gentle. So it’s best to pick up the slab by the parchment and to peel the parchment off the slab instead of attempting to peel the slab off the parchment.
I’ve had the heartbreaking moment of a slab crumbling all over my freezer
Are you extracting with BHO or Ethanol? I have experience flipping EtOH slabs and those first few flips can be pretty tricky if you don’t leave them on the rotovap long enough. I would typically use 2 pieces of parchment, flip and once you start pulling the parchment off DONT STOP. Its gotta be a clean pull all the way through other wise you’ll get that “bunching up look” like the picture you posted. If the slab is giving you resistance just toss her in the freezer for a bit and give it another try. I would keep a careful eye on the spots where the slab gets folded or bent because these can be sites of nucleation that cause crystals to form.
I do it so often, If I ever run out of smoke I can rangle up a heroic size dab from the bottom of my freezer.
Spread it thin over parchment pull vac at 130 for an hour .flip slab place into oven 95 degrees over 5 days flipping at least every 12 hours finish at 130 20 min no vac . If stability issues need further dewax
If you dont have a freezer. You can use drice tek. Dry ice. Put new paper on top. Flip over. Place a handful of dry ice in a line along edge. Slowly pull paper off while moving ice till you can remove paper. Takes a little trial and error but works great in a pinch.
I thought i was the only person to call it drice haha
