extraction flask

Hi there

Im building a double wall chamber of nirosta steel (maybe diff name in english) to extract in -80 ethanol. A circulating chiller will chill the inside chamber via the double wall.

in the 5 liter chamber i will put 1:10 etho and grinded dry flower, close a lid that will include a stirrer and temp sensor
at the end i will pour it all out straight into a vacuum filter.

any thoughts of what radios this should be?
or any thought\comments at the planning?

THANKS!

 everybody wants to build their own wheel…

(don’t get me wrong. I love wheels )

correct ratio is 1lb gently ground flower to ~7lb (6.8lb = 1gal) ethanol

or in your case about 590g into 5liters.

That works out to about 20mg oleoresin per ml EtOh which is near the solubility I have seen for THC in EtOH azeotrope at cryo temperatures.
At -20 F freezer temperatures the solubility goes up a lot.
I’m getting good recovery from 100 grams of biomass with 2.5-3 liters of EtOH in three extractions with the third having a chromatographic top layer.
That works out to a little over 3 gallons per pound of biomass if I haven’t sampled too much product.
I could probably back off to two extraction cycles with only about a 5% loss but I get what I pay for.
