Cryo hexane crude

I was under the impression that alkane solvents weren’t great at pulling chlorophyll. :thinking:

i wonder if he maybe has some ethanol in his hexane maybe some lle on ethanol crude that wasn’t purged

Chlorophyll is incredibly non polar. “Like dissolves like”.

This is VERY possible, he could have had water or methanol in there that pulled a little chloraphyll.

This is why I use heptane and methanol for LLE with no water!!! Unless you use sieve beads you’ll never get the water completely out

The bidons had some ice forming on the outside standing in the ultra freezer for 3 days
Possibly some fell in
