Rinsed with ethanol. I was totally desperate. We have a 2 person operation and the hold up for this is currently killing production. Thank you for all advices!

I know most of you are talking about distillation and that kind of glassware, but what about pyrexs, and ball jars with bho on them? Would large ultra sonic bath work, or is there a commercial dish washer on the market to handle that stuff?
it’s all the same stuff. it’s literally just doing the dishes lol.

as for a dishwasher, I agree that would be nice but I haven’t found anything yet commercially available or affordable so I’m thinking about modifying a dishwasher to include some vertical nozzles

The volatiles that get collected in the cold trap are great for cleaning the boiling flask! Terps are the perfect cleaning solvent, works better than acetone.

Supersaturated KOH bath will eat anything
Do not use ultrasonic cleaners on glassware destined for deep vacuum
The best way to clean is to immediately upon finishing the run heat up some acetone to near boiling and add it to your flask, do not add cold solvent as risk of thermal shock will have you pulling a @Demontrich and tossing the whole thing, plus fucking your mantle up
Boil the acetone through your system to clean in place and any remaining garbage stuck can be dissolved in KOH solution
When making KOh solution always remember the rule: add the alkali salts to the solvent NOT the other way around- hydroxides dissolving into solution produce a lot of heat! May asplode if done too fast!

I like this response it’s interesting but are there enough to completely clean it? I do a lot of preprocessing to remove as many of these as possible
I like the idea, I need something that is going to fit like 5-6 large pyrexs at a time so maybe like a small tub, Ill try this Monday. We also dont do any distillations so I would like to keep ethanol waste down to a minimum but in long run it might use less to soak over night and rinse.
Still would like to know if anyone has tried or seen someone use a commercial dishwashing unit on bho pyrexs, maybe using alconox as a detergent or something. The nifty lab glassware ones are nice but also $10k+.
The short answer is no definitely not. But if you collect em and save them over time you can get a decent supply of solvent that is the best thing I’ve found for cleaning the tough stuff. I also add the super green, runny terp fraction that comes off of the rerun of heads. Terps are used in alot of cleaning products anyway, why not put em to use.
