please boys and girls…DONT do this at home (in lab).

those bags are way too tall. if you spin them like that with biomass in there they will shred in no time flat, and it will ruin your day.

its also a really great way to break an arm, or even get it ripped off entirely (see: bock suit )

…and then there is the part where you really shouldn’t open it AT ALL when the thing is spinning.

what about the dingle dangling from my shirt?

is that a key card around your neck or you just dying to get into a centrifuge?

just like a radiator fan can grab you by your back stage pass or hoodie strings, an centrifuge can get all grabby at the slightest invitation…

Edit: that’s why I keep ditching my key card boss. it scares me. :shushing_face:

i love how hot the fuge lid gets when the bag rubs during a spin cycle.

i had to get my donut socks custom made 2in shorter for exactly this reason. horrifying amount of loose biomass in my system. sucked but i’m glad i found out before ordering 300 more

In high school metal shop we had a girl with long hair that was working on the lathe… Let your imagination do the rest… and even then it’s not going to be as gory as what really happened.
