Bump, happy Tuesday

Hey bro, Im interested, but im confused; on the COA it says 99.3+ % CBD, and no CBDa. Isn’t isolate all CBDa? Because its not decarbed?

Basically I thought that isolate cbd should be CBDa and once you decarb it, it becomes CBD, a decarbed Oil. Just like with THC.

So is this stuff decarbed? How can isolate take the form of a powder if its decarbed?

Isolate could mean any isolated compound. There is cbda isolate and cbd isolate.

The most commercially produced is gunna be cbd isolate which is a crystal that is then crushed into a powder for ease of purging etc. Cbda isolate is also produced by a few labs but it’s not nearly as common

Fascinating. Im thinking in terms of THC - its grown as THCa, which is a salt / crystal, that can be turned into diamonds. But once heated (decarbed) it becomes THC distillate, which is an oil, right? There is no way to turn THC distillate back into THCa, so im confused how you guys isolated powder out of distillate?

I would have thought that Isolate is equivalent to diamonds and would be CBDa / THCa, and not CBD/THC, which are decarbed and are oils?

Am i mistaken in my knowledge here bro?

CBD and CBDa can both crystallize, whereas on the marijuana side, only THCa crystallizes and THC cannot.

It takes a bit more care (avoidance of heat) to keep CBDa around. This typically rules out distillation, which is common before isolation.

A common pathway for us hemp boys would be decarbing flower → extraction → winterization → distillation → isolation

I’ll let a THC guy correct me if I am wrong, but I don’t think I would technically call a melted diamond a THC distillate, as it has never actually been distilled.
