I’ve seen the COA for the butane that came back at 99.92 or close, but definitely 99.9.
I said it before and I ll say it again
This is your culprit
I played with it I have seen what it can do and how fast it can do things
Seeing it here in the list only makes my believes stronger
@Graywolf years back @SkyHighLer
Did butane contamination research
And I would hope some of the reports of that time are still in your possession
Either physically or on mail ?
Maybe a butane reading of that time can give some insight in neopentane content before and now
Could you please check if any of that data is still available ?
Thx
Theory a: neopentane is a solid at -16C
At temps below it s a solid and forms
Nucleation sites with a different polymorf ( my simple minded theory)
Theory B ;BHO….what ever, we have to ask ourselves how does neopentane affect that system……is it catalytically disrupting the entire structure of liquid butane, or is it just acting on the “Complexed THCA”?
( our wizard of oz @moronnabis take)
Thank you for posting my link @pdxcanna. I notice my IC Mag link was broken and I fixed it in my link and here it is: (17) Butane Residue Test Results | International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums
Hey thanks I appreciate the reply.
Could we possibly setup a discord call with multiple forum members and Rami at the same time? We could really open this subject up. Maybe Waxplug would be interested in joining the call.
Otherwise maybe you could just email Rami the questions I posed in my comment from yesterday and post his response here?
Don’t take my “for profit” comment as an insult. Think of it more like I’m trying to get a second opinion from another doctor. I do believe you’re trying to help, but obviously you’re also trying to make money off the solution. That could clearly lead to some conflict of interest issues. I’m not saying you’re taking advantage of people, I really don’t think that, but I don’t know you at all so I have to kinda assume the worst. Especially in this business. Nothing personal.
So he can say the issue doesn’t exist more
Sounds valuable!
Unless Waxplug deviates from civil discourse, why exclude him from such convo? In the sprit of science, if the current theories are strong, then we should be able to strengthen them even more by allowing a skeptic to participate in such discourse.
Its totally possible he is mostly wrong but could be onto something that helps us all move our understandings forward. WP has been a respectful contributor here for years. I still remember when Moronabis was scoffed when he brought new concepts into the threads here.
I personally am not 100% certain on the ethanolamine piece, im 80% with it but some of my own personal experiments have brought me to a point where I can see how ethanolamines could play a part in fast crash but I have yet to be able to recreate the various ways the phenomena presents itself in a controlled experiment. (Granted, my measuring instruments have limitations and I havent done as deep of an exploration as Id like to yet)
I also have seen evidence here that helped me get to my “80% sure about ethanolamines” but have also seen a lack of evidence that contributes to my “20% not sure about ethanolamines” I recognize the limitations of my own personal experiments and still not satisfied with the theory.
Rogue’s comment about neo-pentane is interesting, did not notice it solidifies at -16C. I have seen it present on test reports of gas for years prior to the fast crash/medusa hauntings.
I cant deny the phenomena I witness with “spicy gas”, it is something I havent seen before, but Im not entirely sure about hows/whats about it yet
Because he did nothing but stop valuable information from flowing in the many times I have seen him talk about it over several platforms. His trolling is a good bit of why my information stopped flowing publicly and went private. People want to troll and act like you owe them something get no hand outs for upping their game in my circle.
I will say any “trolling” hes done on this topic has been rather civil compared to instances from others ive seen here over the years. I havent seen dude doxing members/threatening to call CPS/posting way off topic/stoking petty arguments.
Thats all I I’ma say on it.
I dont want to derail this thread into a side convo about who and who shouldnt be allowed to participate in a formal discussion. Hell, I almost didnt post about it but figured it was worth stating because he has added alot to threads here over the years and has exhibited his ability to solve problems from his own angle, shared tek and isnt just talking shit.
I compiled and posted this information on neopentane a while ago. It’s always been in the butane, so I took it off my list of likely suspects.
Out of curiosity; had a vessel made with special fittings to perform what we’re calling a “treatment” to the LPG and pump to cycle it; we also added some criteria to the packaging and washing specifications. Limited testing done with positive results thus far, and still no conclusive ability to point to amines, but we’ll be doing more testing soon.
There is so much room for improvement in general anyway, the supply logistics chain is filthy, we’ll just start there and work our way down to the end-user.
You post range of 0.04 to 0.10.
It would be important to compare this range with those values reported after the onset of the medusa problem.
Someone in the BHO business needs to do a study on the addition of neopentane to crude BHO with varying concentrations, making note whether there is a minimal concentration that effects a rapid (30 -60sec) fast crash?
Butane works……in search of a theory.
Just for clarity…@RogueLabs had suggested such a study and some preliminary results . Not my idea…but it should be done.
I’ll assemble quarterly averages of Neopentane content for 2021and 2022. Have a couple golf outings this week - will post info early next week.
Since it s bp is 10C higher than butane would not be suprised that when purging is done to crash the % is a lot higher in the concentrate
You would need data for 2020. Early 2021 is when we first started having issues.
Just last week we had got a tank that was so bad that even with our scrubbing we were not able to remove everything and had a whole batch medusa out.
Using “clean” gas too?
John,

No using same supply, been stuck in a supply agreement with our supplier for a while and so we just get spicy gas.
