Sup guys just wanted to run this idea by the community before I make the purchase. So what I wants todo is buy a 12"x24" jacketed spool with hemispheric lid and a jacketed hemi reducer. Is this going to be safe with the 12 inch clamps and all that solvent or should I maybe look into a tall 8 inch spool instead. Was going with the 12 inch because I already have the lid.
And I run my machine around 70-80 psi
Go with the taller 8”
Thats very very close to the psi max of 12” clamps.
Eh, I use 12” clamps. It’s a bitch to set the base, but haven’t had any issues. Even during pressure testing.
What solvent are you using?
Oh they will work absolutely, just a warning if someone didn’t know. Used plenty with blends before and straight propane
In my opinion, which is worth nothing, if you’re seeing 80psi in standard operation of your rig, it would possible to accidentally exceed the specs for a 12" clamp. I’d go smaller to run that high of a pressure…but I don’t know a lot outside of my own experience and I’ve blown myself up before.
You could also source a 12" unit that has welded reduced end ports.
Something like this
I don’t like 12 inch vessels just based of the ratings. Go taller, not wider
This is the way
50/50 or 70/30 iso
