Honestly, the huge issue here is the issue of no internal quality assurance of incoming raw materials.
If the solvent supplier didn’t provide a CoA and you didn’t ask for one—who’s fault is it really that Benzene ended up in the final product?
Now, if the raw material is tested and comes back clean that’s an entirely different issue.
The real issue seems to be that a bunch of extractors AND at least one solvent supplier were unscrupulous with their raw materials and instead of accepting responsibility they’re trying to find a scapegoat.
There’s no doubt in my mind that cleaning tanks helps, and there’s no doubt in my mind that a company like Cortland is purifying these gases to remove sulphur-containing compounds, paraffins and nasty volatiles.
Seems like someone introduced tainted gas into the supply chain and no suppliers or extractors checked to make sure the gas was good.
Just a lack of quality assurance of incoming raw materials.
I mean shoot, you test your cannabis before you blast it, why not the only other raw material you use to process it?
