Are you isolating in your lab?

the whole site is great, i forgot about filter bags thats what i used for ethanol not cartridge filters. Used to winterize GALLONS on gallons thru that beast in minutes while people had 3-7 30 in diameter buchners chilling half the day.

I advise against putting a collection pot in a freezer, ya know just in case it’s not purged and the freezer isn’t spark proof

Errybodys fine with the cowboy shit until it goes boom :person_shrugging:

You can also just use a heater/chiller combo circulator on your diamond miner for the same effect ā€œoutsideā€ of your CLS.

Better yet, just ramp the temp down on that overnight and come back in the morning to something nice, instead of starting at -50c or what-have-you

Diamond miners and bucket tech are no where close to as efficient or effective as active inline isolation.

I’m kinda curious if you are confusing the crystalization/nucleation step of isolation, for isolation itself. I’d love to bring you a 30lb bag of Skittles and see you separate a the colors in 3 hours.

They would never be able to complete a Van Halen backstage rider. BROWN M&MS?!?!?!?! BUSH LEAGUE!

That cartridge filter is at bottom of crystallizer or do you transfer isolate and mother liquor to separate pot to and filter it through there?

Have you ever tried pushing solids through a closed loop?

You do you, if your system isnt truly closed, the freezer isnt explosion proof or the collection pot has a leak i would hope that you wouldnt be extracting at this point to be honest. People will wholesale already $1-2 for 99.9 shit the legal market is 1 dollar away in calis socliasm tax programs. Racks and dollies are your friend imo, Requires a lil back work but damn do deep freezers save you on a stupid amount of blue bins while your extractor is standing around anyways.

And i put it in there even after running 60-75 6x60s. Also, i take off the heaters quick disconnect a few columns before the last extraction so the pressure is non existant and its extra taney xD.

Your process has fear of what should be contained. Imo thatll hold your operation back. If you cant trust your employees equipment or such i understand but thats the diff between the whales and all the unemployed extractors now.

What are you isolating bc if your goal is to isolate thca that step is exactly how i isolate so. As stated its dewaxing with extra steps. You are freezing/coagulating the fats to isolate them in your filter. Whats the difference if your doing it with all your thca.

Removing dye is another process in its own and would require any cannabis extractor to learn more to isolate. Just like every other isolated compound odds are you just need a diff process/parameters/solvent.

For cannabinoids. I’m not saying you can’t get a pretty clean isolate with a crash/crystalization process outside the loop. I think you are taking my comment/troll of myrrdin to far out of context. Although crystalization is pretty simple getting clean, pure isolate, quick isn’t a cut and dry process, and some people run more than just thc-a flower.

Yea im lost on that no emojis or any hint of a laugh did not think it was a troll at all.

Id disagree with getting clean pure isolate isnt easy but again to each their own. Ive yet to buy over 5 gallons of pentane processing and our facility was doing a ton daily than with that clip

Define efficient?
Define effective?

Cold crashing in a pre-staged miner works for our processes well enough that I can’t convince ye olde budget-man to fork over the goods for an inline crash reactor. Granted, our miners have a few customizations.

Overhead was the death of 2 of the labs we purchased in Cali. Lab extractors splurging over investor money and buying AI ovens worth more than a car when i was swooping up every other extractors old 1.9 AI for $100-400 lol.

I used a BHOGART BFE as my first and flew some guys out from washington that bizzy bee used to modify. TL:DR for less than 500k we were able to process/store/post process a ton a day and considering concentrates were as low as 6 and as high as 14-16 a gram than. I think it goes w.o saying how quickly you can reimburse your costs.

Efficiency is the goal, Efficacy is the dream.

Effective is a term used for those that cant claim/prove either of the 2 above.

OpEx is king agreed! Which is why I argue that anyone not actively involved in the manufacture, distribution, or sale of product should get their income reduced significantly. Why do most MSOs have entire teams for marketing? Purchasing? Just give the lab a quarterly budget and incentive not to use it. They’re the folks who know what they need anyway, and major purchases would still need necessity/growth-validation. Just give department heads access to the brand instagram handles and run posts through HR or whatever prior to posting.

I cant speak for every operation but ive seen over 10,000 licenses disapear in cali not from lack of product or quality. But lack of sales, My first contractual MSO from a subsidiary of pfizer moved to cali after doing 15 million in washington.

Look at stiiizy for example if anybody else here worked with or along side a retailer we all knew once that video of whats her face dropping a lb blunt got over 50 million views with a stiizy sign in the background we had people walking into the store multiple times a day requesting it.

They didnt really even need a sales team they just hired account managers which meant no percentages to any sales person aka boss mans probly took the commisions.

1 Good(lucky) marketing pitch is all it takes to become a giant. I agree with you 100% and wanted my first marketing team/social media manager fired but we ended up getting a 10% cut in our salaries till sales picked up instead(they did not and i quit/produced over 30 skus for them to sit.) Older heads dont understand that market and are easily fooled by any guy/girl that takes good pics or even buys the likes lol.

Quite a few forum members here did this in cali and all failed. Not saying its their fault their bosses gave them a matching price point with no support. The only one ive seen succeed was a fella i extracted with once upon a time. Coldfire extracts and hes dropped 10% in sales in the past 3 months according to BDSAnalyitcs

What doesn’t work on the east coast may work on the west, and vice versa.

It’s been some 10 years or so since I worked out on the west coast but I’m confident that marketing has little impact on sales on the east coast relative to the departments cost in labor. As you said, fairly sure all the marketing folks on the east coast are just buying likes to keep their jobs, and the impact on sales is suspect at best. If one were to have their production crews take pictures of the work they’re proud of, and post to their brands insta via their department lead, it would present a real connection that is very lacking on the east coast, and would have a far larger impact on sales than the banal out of touch marketing that flies on the east allegedly has, with the added bonus of not involving an entire team of people in marketing.

You hit the nail on the head regarding east coast marketing, most marketing and sales teams I’ve encountered don’t consume the products to begin with. Combine that with a governing body that has a ā€œno funā€ policy (specifically in medical only states) and the decisions get incredibly questionable.

I’ve seen some real weird ish comin’ from the MSOs present on the east coast.

I don’t need a picture of a dude dressed as the mad hatter and covered in glitter to get me to buy your shit. I want to see what your laborers are proud of, and i’ll buy that for sure.

This is pretty much the exact reason the Maine has the best weed on the east coast. Every single person in Maine can grow six plants, there is 0 MARKET for MSO’s… It’s pretty funny too, cause you will tell a West coaster Maine has the best weed and they will be like oh yea, ā€œwhoā€ give me an example, like we have some monster brand to name. Dude it came from the mom and pop down the street…

Big facts, good to hear about east coast perspective ive been tempted to move but it seems to only be mso’s and i dont want to do one again lol. Especially in states that havnt had medical for a over a decade ya i more than see the validity to this. Florida wouldve been easy territory from anyone in cali if they didnt monopolize it by requiring the arborist of 30 years to get a license. I bet jungle boys/the investors gonna become so rich in that states BS licensing. Floridas body of govt vs calis in terms of licensing power upgrades etc is a million miles ahead(faster more efficient) than the shit show out here.

Took us 3 years for a power upgrade than like 4 months to tunnel 3 phase. In florida thatd take like 3-4 weeks. Im pretty sure JB’s first grow still isnt operational the concrete jungle one than again i havnt kept up with it since its last rejection of approval in 2021-2022? They started that thing in 2017 even if it did get approved right after my last known time thats a disgrace to the land of the ā€œfreeā€ lol.
