Have you never built your own? It is ridiculously easy. The tubes are 5x5 vinyl post covers. Home depot sells them. Gh invented a great concept, but their design sucks. Use half inch cpvc for spray lines, eighth inch drill bit for spray line holes. Make the last one bigger, bc that is the one that clogs. I think I would add a tap to open at the end of the line, too. Water in the end matters the most as it tends to pool there.

And physan 20 works fine to treat root rot, but you have to use it in tiny amounts, like a drop or two per ten gallons of reservoir added daily. If you use the amount recommended in the instructions, it kills everything, plants included.

About 90% less water than a “traditional” method. I recirculate it, and when the system irrigates there is a very small amount of water used since it is distributed through those spray nozzles.
Our irrigation times are ~1.5 min on and ~4.5 min off. Irrigation times change as plants grow more mature root systems. The bottom of the tubs end up covered in a mat of roots once they are pretty deep in flower.

Do you ever have plants choking each other out as their roots intertwine like that? I used to run coco matts under rockwool and never saw an issue, but the plants had a lot more space in comparison

Nah, the tubs are about 4x4 and another 10 or so inches deep. They have plenty of room. Digging up more pics.
I will say this system is very high risk high reward. The bud is out of this world. I’ve hit the highest cannabinoid %’s I’ve ever had with this system. But there are plenty of opportunities to screw things up if you don’t run a tight ship.

What do you do about the roots growing into the res? Something like an autopot root disc in the way of the drainpipes?
It happens, but it isn’t really a problem. I haven’t ever had a mag drive clog from the roots, at least enough to hurt the plants. Drains are 1.5" or 2" pvc. Glue a short section of pipe into a coupling, then the coupling end sits inside so it won’t pass through the drain hole going downward.
Home depot keeps selling me crappier end caps. The plastic is thinner than it used to be and requires more glue. Silicone works, jb weld works better. Rough up the surfaces with a wire brush first to make the glue stick better.

U want it to be a strain thats not so tall but more stocky, not necessarily bushy because u will be thinning too often. Something that doesnt stretch too far because it will wanna shoot roots everywhere. Something with high root mass but a small footprint and the faster flowering the better IMO for hydro systems in general

This is good to hear and sounds about right. One company in my area (Virginia company) uses all aero(except for mother that are in rdwc). Had a friend work their for a few years. Heard nothing but nightmares…(Mostly what I will attribute to not running a tight ship, as you’d stated above)

A buddy of mine moved to los angeles and set up a tiny aero system in his apartment growing whatever the corner dispensary was selling as far as genetics goes. He then entered a few local cannabis cups and did very well, placed a couple times and finished ahead of some notable growers and seed companies.

What dispo? I used to get a lot of clones from out there. Right now i have some 3 kings og from cloneville in hollywood.
Idk, honestly. I think he was growing a jedi kush of which he bought a few clones. But he said that was the only variety of clones for sale in that shop when he was there, yet with aero growing it beat everybody’s exotic this and that. He is a nurse by trade and not even really that much into growing.
