When I think mainstream, I think Buchi, Heidolph, etc…stuff you find in research labs, universities…

Respectfully disagree. I first learned glycerin was a terrible idea when building an immersion PC for cooling back in college. I second learned glycerin was a bad idea shortly after college when using said Heidolph to attempt to “distill things” under high vacuum.
@roguelab, your hands have better traction than mine I guess, because glycerin makes those balls super slippery. Dust and dirt gets caught in it making it gooy and disposing of it is annoying. Water is safer, cleaner, easier, cheaper, etc. If you NEED to go over 100c, which I can’t imagine why unless you are doing things outside of Cannabis- then get the right machine for the job… which isn’t a rotovap.
