WTF is this...I know what it's supposed to be!

Ok. Final step. I collected the white trippy stuff, pulled away as much of the residual terps that I could on a coffee filter then put it on a hot plate. as it melted I soaked up the clear liquid and isolated the yellow glob. It solidified rapidly after removing it from the heat source. So what we have here is…yellow trippy shit isolate! Looks like sulfur but doesn’t smell like it.

Does not dissolve in EtOH, Ethyl Acetate, hexane, isopropyl, acetone or water and had no reaction with acetic acid or NaOH. Melting point around 185F. Trippy shit indeed.

@cyclopath , @kcalabs, @Kingofthekush420 @MagisterChemist any ideas???

Wow, that’s very odd. Perhaps it’s broken down vacuum grease?

The only place I use grease is my cold trap.

Didn’t this come from the cold trap?

No. Straight drip from the condenser with the terps.

could it be a pesticide?

I suppose…But I would think it would have to be soluble in something for delivery

Agreed

It could have been something you add to water and foliar which would be my guess

It has a pretty melting point

Pretty sure that was checked.

There’s only one thing left to do

Snort it or boof it?

I was thinking about trying as sex lube? It’s kind of like boofing, and you both have equal amounts of probability should something go south…
Snorting it sounds like fun though. You know, for “old times sake!”

I’ve seen a white substance coming through the condenser with the terps before is was clearly thicker and gathered at the end of the condenser. I thought it was weird at the time but continued on to the mains. After I had it tested at the lab, sure enough my distillate came back hot for piperonyl butoxide and pyrethrin.

Edited for my poor grammar.

Mail me a sample I’ll dab it and see what happens.

The only other thing besides pesticides that I’ve seen do that is fats and lipids (and if you know that you’re winterizing good then you can guess its probably the first)

Could be plastics maybe?

How’s it smell when burnt? Try using DCM or MEK or xylene to dissolve it.

Agreed. I’ve never seen fat or lipids come through during distillation. I guess my winterization tek is on point.

Like I stated earlier it melts at 185f. Didn’t take it to degradation. As for the solvents you listed this is an extraction facility and I don’t have access to those. Wish I did. But thanks for the input! :+1:
