Welch 1400n for filtration?

Will a welch1400n work for filtration or should I use a smaller vac pump to filter crude?im not looking to abuse my Welch if it’s unnecessary…

even though it can handle long term exposure to an extent…I would save the welch, and pick up a cheaper dual or quad head diaphragm

I’d 100% use a cold trap and a vac needle valve. You may boil the solvent with a deep vac.

double what @Demontrich said , or pick up a used vacuum regulator for more accurate settings, but don’t disregard the cold trap….

(if you want this one better hurry I’m sure its going to go quick now that its posted)

I have a cold trap and a vacuum regulator what should I have my vacuum regulator set at for optimum filtration?

lots of variables.

watch your cold trap accumulation and set the regulator on the fence of accumulation

doesn’t hurt to use a small jacketed vessel for filtration collection, its allows lower temps and harder vacuum pull… or just submerge in DI and ethanol

will this diaphragm pump work

yes it will, but id imagine its pricey, the one I posted above is a way better score

I happen to already own this ulvac pump would I need to run a cold trap with this pump and what am I shooting for on the vacuum regulator

lots of variables.

watch your cold trap accumulation and set the regulator on the fence of accumulation

or just turn up to full vac, and high heat, with the external condenser pre super chilled and lose some clarity and solvent most likely but greatly speed up recovery
