Yes. Disease will wipe out your farm and are hard as fuck to get rid of. Often impossible to economically recover from.
Foot baths, indoor-outdoor segregated shoes, frequent hand washing, frequent iso alcohol hand washing.
Large farms don’t even allow delivery drivers past the gate without driving through a tire bath full of virkon to disinfect. At the research facility I managed you weren’t allowed to enter the facility if you had been to the beach in the past 12 hours. Essentially BSL1/2 protocols but for shrimp pathogens.
If you touched saltwater that was not a part of our closed loop systems, you weren’t allowed to enter the building until you changed clothes

Yes, I worked in Aquaculture prior to my professional entry into cannabis, my last normal job was as a hatchery manager (shrimp pimp) for a multinational feed company’s R&D Lab, yes in Florida
It is getting more and more feasible every day.(Slight political tangent, look into Save Our Shrimpers act, we’ve been paying $100Ms to other countries to farm shrimp and surpressing it here because it’s nearly impossible to compete, they want to stop that)
Do some research into biofloc. It’s the method India has used to compete with China and Thailand. Current wholesale farmed shrimp price is about $7/kg. Can do 7-9kg/m2 about every 90 days if your dryouts are perfect.
