Solventless Terpene Extraction

Completely agree, They probably used ethanol as a cosolvent in their extraction process too. Honesty goes a long way in my book, no need for all the gimmicks.

What extraction rig do you use
Brand? And size ?
Nice to have another CO2 extractor on board @ExTek90 is an other knowledgeable co2 extractor here

The IES 40 liter botanical extractor This beast costs a lot to run, the air compressor is three-phase, The newer models are hydraulic but this model is driven by an air compressor
The compressor was like 28 grand

 nice man I have seen 2 guys being able to fine tune co2 monsters
And it s an amazing technique
Once you get all the settings right
No method can come close
I wish you well :fist_left:

Building my own

Hmm I tryied to 10 years ago it is basically afiasco
Once only once the unit gave a spitball of oil that was good set to run while having coffee al hell broke loose not a clue what the settings where :joy: But it made 1 dabable dab
Never again I gave up on the unit still have her standing she never made it super critical but engineering wise it was a great ride

It’s a pilot system it comes with run parameters and equations to figure out run times to extract terps and obviously any botanical compounds including but not limited to
ThcA THCV CBDA CBDV You just program in the pressures that you want and the flow through the vessels that you choose and hit the button
Part of me regretted getting this instead of having a short path distillation set up because I think I’ve lost money go in this direction first
I should probably ask the community what other extracts are actually high enough value to be worth doing like should I be extracting Rose oil or Birch oil when I’m not running this machine all the time

Man sorry to hear that
I am personally playing with Norwegian Sea grass and
Magistan fruit peels extracting xhantonen ( Dutch)
They have medicinal values but don t really know if the have commercial value
I ll ask around see what the perfumers and nutritional specialist are after

What was the indicator? Because I agree with you 100% that color does not dictate quality.

When You smell them
You can smell the difference. I know it’s not a lab test, but we all can tell immediately which batches are the most valuable, and I’m sure testing would confirm that those batches have the highest actual percentage of terpenes

I have been utlizing a 1800w MAE, Essentially it is steam distill but we are able to pull terpenes off before decarb, and then 80%+THC running it through our CO2 machine.

So like a milestone unit?

Are you referring to using a vacuum oven with fresh frozen plant biomass and just puling a hard vacuum with a coldtrap to catch the h2o and terps?

Check out Microwave Terpene Extraction Solutions | Milestone SCI

I have seen this machine in a tradeshow.
Unfortunately they did not have any terpenes sample to show the results.
It’s a microwave oven with a vaccum chamber inside.
That vacuum chamber is connected to a distillation column.

I’m not really convinced by microwaves until I can smell a sample…

I freeze dried fresh herb once, with an old unit. Only a portion of the profile is extracted that way. And the device smells for a long time afterward…

My experience with microwave terps has been great! They are much improved by drying the terps with a desiccant such as MgSO4
