Soap in distillate

So, I normally clean my mantle with ethanol and my partner had me do it with dish soap. As much as I painstakingly rinsed the mantel out, there is obviously still soap in there as it is foaming to high hell. Am I the only idiot this has ever happened to and does anyone know how to recover this material?

Few options. You can try taking the oil up in hydrocarbon and doing repeated LLE with water until there is no more soap bubbles. Redistill might work. Or take oil up in hydrocarbon and filtering it through silica.

@1234user Can you explain what mean taking the hydrocarbon up?

Dissolve in heptane, wash with salt water. Liquid Liquid Extraction
