I went from the pig filter to the Sambo and it is just a giant Buchner. I able to run 50 liters at -80 through it every hour with no filter aid. So it makes what used to take forever achievable in a work day. I like the simplicity of it just pour and go

Bag filter sizes are supposedly standard 1 to 4
So are cartriges

Depending on your needs and use you can calculate your best size
Winterizing crude thatās all I would need it for
Well then a jacketed version might be better I know they exist gust din t know who has them
But placing the whole thing in a freezer also solves that 
Tried and it works use a standing freezer and hoses treu the door
I prefure a fuge for winterizing

Iāll check for jacketed ones as well. Is using a centrifuge easier for winterizing
I find it easier but I am an illlagal lab where. Nobody comes to check
I use a panda that I modified and a large filter bag
And works good up to 3 kg of fats then
I swap bag and proceed

used the pig at my old lab. Purchased from a Maple Syrup company. New lab has the Sambo. The pig is a million times faster. Sambo is slow AF! The plate filter (PIG) just needs to be primed with Ethanol before introducing the oil/ethanol.
