How many hours does it take to cool ethanol from room temp(70F) to -70C in a So-Low Freezer. Looking at purchasing a unit to go along with our Ethos 6 to let us run longer hours. I was looking at the C80-27.

Freezers have a somewhat bad cooling power a 1100 W freezer can cool about 60L of ethanol in 24 hours to -70 in smaller containers ( 10L)

There is math (and even an excel spreadsheet. Thanks @Lincoln20XX ) around here for calculating chiller requirements for cooling ethanol.
Lots of folks use cryo-freezers. However, as @Roguelab points out, freezers are not actually designed for removing large amounts of heat & are actually a pretty lousy solution at any scale beyond a single keg.
Then again, so are capna. There are more of those critters wallowing in the for sale section here than any other device…
