Remediation of tainted distillate

Guys, gals… any help would be appreciated:

There is some distillate mixed with terpenes that has been sitting in a metal tin. It seems the corrosive properties of the terps have eroded the inside of the tin and the distillate tastes awful.

Can this be re ran through the spd to rescue and clean up or is this a bin job.

Thanks

Water wash it should take the terps right out

Water wash? As in pH degum? Most terpenes are not miscible with water.

When you say “tin” what type of metal is it made of?

Terpenes have a lower bp than cannabinoids in general, distillation should remove them. If they have eroded the metal you might have a more complex task at hand.

Its a fusion of the two. Water wash the lead out and then spd out the terps

Water wash for terp removal? You don’t need to redistill?

Depends on what kind of terps? I have removed analytical terps with water washing

I’d say try a DCVC chromatography run on it either before or after the washes. You’ll definitely pull the terps out that way, and I’m assuming they’d be primarily dissolved in the terps not the distillate. So you’d need to separate the two fractions.
