Hey guys. So awhile back I did my first ever spd run and documented by my follow along post. Since then I’ve done quite a few runs but still always learning. Anyways, usually it seems once my head temp hits 200c, the whole thing kinda goes into cruise control and i start collecting my thc. Usually the head temp stays consistent until my boiling flask is super low and it’s all done. Today’s run, for some reason, a little ways through I collected quite a bit of distillate, and all of a sudden my head temp started dropping pretty consistently. Got down to around 140 and everything got real slow. Bumped up my mantle temp but that’s starting to get too high for my liking. Vac is at 620 micron. Last run I had it down to 200-400 micron. Probably fighting a small leak perhaps? Running a 2 l cheap spd so I know I’m making problems for myself. But I haven’t had this problem of the dropping head temp so far. Any suggestions ?

A vac leak is the most obvious
What type of vac grease are you using ?
If you get this batch tested and CBC
Is part of it that often shows up when vac leaks are present
