Plant Safe Silicone/Glues

I used some fish safe silicone to join my pvc irrigation lines but the stuff didn’t hold. I’ve got leaks and joints that just aren’t holding. I was reading in some aquarium forums where guys said they used pvc cement meant for potable water. Is this safe? Curious to what some of you have done…

Pvc glue is safe for potable water as long as you let it cure. Get the red hot blue glue. You don’t need primer.

If this I just plumbing for cooling what’s it matter what you use? It’ll never touch or get into anything right

@StoneD it’s for my irrigation lines… Just loaded up on pvc and bought to get gluing!

Use pvc glue, like @Onceovertwice said.

K.i.s.s. No need to get too complicated.

I do rdwc and use red hot blue glue…

If you’re ever worried about getting glue to the inside of the fitting… you can easily just put all your glue on the male portion of the fitting. Putting glue on the female end inevitably shoves glue into the pipe…

This has worked for me, especially when doing repairs on a full rdwc system and I don’t have lots of time for glue to cure
