Pesticide R&D

Alexander Shulgin was given the freedom at Dow Chemical to tinker on psychedelics after he developed this pesticide for them. Mexacarbate - Wikipedia Pesticides are a bit of a dirty word in the in the cannabis industry for obvious reasons, but do you think it’s worth the time to R&D new pesticide or pest management technologies that possibly use naturally sourced compounds? What classes of compounds do you think are acceptable to use on cannabis?

I suppose the best would be neonicitinoids but I want organic thanks.
But, as recreational kicks in, the quantities get huge and mass agriculture will be needed.
Not sure if that can be done without insecticides and herbicides.
For sure, there will be products developed for this market.
Zectran was a relatively eco-friendly insecticide but it wasn’t easy to make and Dursban (chlorpyrifos) took over.
Dursban is an easy, two step synthesis but if the stoichiometry gets off the by products are genuine nerve gas.
