PAR meters

So im looking to purchase a par meter but am having a little trouble deciding on exactly which unit to purchase, any guidance on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

Im trying to decide between the epar, full spectrum and the original. Looking for the most well rounded meter for use on hps, cmh, and led lights.

It’s become evident to me, that operating LED’s is uncharted territory, and that without a par meter your completely in the dark.

Apogee has never been a disappointment… Al the academics use this in their photon flux measurments so your looking at the state of the art imo…

But I only have exp with these sensors so cant say therw isnt a better/cheaper thing on the market… .

I use the cheapy hydro farm and phantom ones they do the job. I tape the sensor to a stick and move it around the canopy.

I can get a decent price on these through my rep at Grow Gen.

I’m all about those nice tools

Would you mind looking through the link I have attached on the post? I’d love your opinion

Glad you have a good experience with grow gen @FicklePickle. The one here sucks bad they don’t have a clue.

I saw and I respect that… Like a finely tuned Intel factory cannabis needs that level…

Dead on timelines, knowing what the plant needs and wants… Dialing in strains here you come!

Most there are morons. Thankfully my rep is an OG in the game, been working with her for the last 10 years at 5 different stores.

Those sensors work great. Do you have the one for trolmaster? I’d like the full spectrum and the light leak one if I had the extra coinage.

Fuck maybe she could help me? You talk to her on the phone and then go to the store to scoop? I’d love to have a better experience with grow gen.

Yeah, I do all my ordering through her. If I need something small and immediately I’ll run to the store for pick up.

I had a question about some gavita lights the other day, and she had a rep from gavita call me. Anytime I have a problem, she’s got the answer or connects me with someone who does.

I’ll dm you her info.

Don’t have one for the trolmaster, haven’t heard great things about it from @Boomtownpharms. And I’d like a mobile meter for all the rooms I oversee

There are alot of spectrometers that are sub $500 and will let you add up your PAR, and give you a little more insight than a quantum sensor.

Wanna make a suggestion?

Rspec makes one that comes with gas tubes for calibration.

I built mine following the pySpectrometer open source build for like $300 but I had some gas tubes already. The gas tubes are super important for calibration.

i have a hopoo HPC300P par meter/spectrometer $1100 https://www.hopoocolor.com/product/detail/OHSP350P.html, works from 350nm to 800nm. ive tested it against an apogee and its par readings are accurate ive tested dozens of different diodes and the spectrometer readings compare well to manufacturers data sheets.

another couple of options, i have never used these but they get good reports, https://www.alliedscientificpro.com/lighting-passport & https://nanolambda.myshopify.com/products/xl-500-ble-spectroradiometer

I’ve got this one here, works good.

Definitely don’t use it in combo with the HCS-1. They were making my lights to weird shit. And turning on and off every few seconds. Apogee is who Pinnacle systems is using on some of their sensors, and he only picks out primo shit to build his systems with.

Troll master has been nothing but problem with me, the controllers are ok but the sensors are another story. There’s a reason why the sensors are way cheaper.
