When Jerry died, spunion kids either gravitated towards Phish or Umphrey’s. The harder instead of noodly sound also included a Zappa revival.
I like Zappa’s entire catalog, but especially his faux-jazz era of Black Page, Waka Jawaka, and The Grand Wazoo.

My cousin was following the dead around full time when Jerry died and in turn followed Max Creek around for a year or two I think. Tbh i barely ever hear them mentioned anymore

Holy shit, I can’t believe I found this one! We used to watch this all the time at my old apartment damn near 20+ years ago. The rule was if you were holding the bong when the guitar solo started you had to consistently rip the bong while everyone else reloaded you and could not clear it until the solo was finished. This motherfucker RIPS.
