Most effective way to clean gums from Evaporator surface?

My last run produced a wild amount of gums to the point I cannot see the condenser coil in the chamber. I tried cleaning with alcohol and didnt strip a bit. What is a safe heat range to bring up the evaporator to bake or clean the interior?

A better way? Advice appreciated never had this much gums in a product.

Ethanol, distilled water, ethanol to dry. Distilled water is the key for gums. Alternatively you can refer to the Chemtech SOP for cleaning. ZEP degreaser works on everything and this is what I use to clean.

Edit: wrong file, reuploaded revised cleaning SOP. Standard Operating Procedure for Cleaning.pdf (204.1 KB)

Try methanol … and maybe limonene if it won’t come off

Thanks for the responses everyone. Will give these a try.

Are you using the Purple or the Citrus. I figure the citrus for the Limonene?

Correct, the limonene distills and collects on the distillate side, the degreaser pulls all the crud from the interior surfaces and rollers and drops into the residue.
