My partner @redonkuless and I are excited to announce the launch of Repitron, a maintenance management platform we’ve been developing.

What started as an effort to streamline repetitive tasks, ensure equipment longevity, and maintain compliance evolved into a much larger project. As we worked through daily maintenance and operational challenges, we kept finding opportunities to improve how information was organized, how work was tracked, and how our teams communicated. Repitron is the result of those efforts.

A maintenance system becomes much more valuable when preventive work can be triggered by actual equipment usage rather than only by calendar dates. Being able to schedule service after a certain number of operating hours, cycles, or batches would be useful for extraction and processing facilities.

I would also be interested in how the platform handles calibration records, recurring inspections, and attachments such as SOPs or service reports. Having the full maintenance history tied to each asset could save a lot of time during troubleshooting and compliance reviews.

@DavidReed Appreciate the feedback! A few of these are definitely things we’ve put a bit of time and thought into.

Usage-based maintenance is a big one, I can agree. The direction we’re working towards is tying in metrics like processing hours, batch cycles, quantities produced, and other relevant parameters. I do already have a batch record automation working separately, but it isn’t integrated into Repitron yet.

Calibration records can largely be handled with the existing system today. For example, a calibration can be set up as a standardized recurring work order with its procedure, checklist, required tools and materials, logs, attachments, and approval. This calibration is kept in the maintenance history and is also categorized/tagged for searchability and analytics.

Internal inspections would be handled in the same manner as calibrations - each provided their own classifications and procedures. As for regulatory and 3rd-party inspections, those are a little different because the requirements vary substantially between industries, jurisdictions, agencies, etc. That’s an area where I think working directly with the customer to build the workflow and documentation around their specific compliance requirements makes more sense than a generic inspection feature trying to cover everything.

Attachments and SOPs are already built in as well. Documents can be attached directly to equipment in the equipment directory or to individual work orders. So an SOP could live with the equipment itself or be included with the work order where it’s needed. Service reports could similarly be attached to the associated work order.

We’re still at a stage where we’re small and flexible enough to work directly with early customers on things like this. If there’s functionality particularly important to your operation, we can potentially prioritize it and develop it around your actual workflow.

That sounds like the right approach, especially on the compliance side. Trying to make one generic inspection module fit every jurisdiction usually turns into a mess, so building those workflows around the actual operator and their documentation needs makes a lot more sense.

The usage-based triggers are the piece I’d be most excited to see integrated when it’s ready. In these facilities, calendar maintenance is helpful, but hours, batches, and throughput often tell the real story. If Repitron can tie that asset history, SOPs, calibration records, and usage data together cleanly, that could be a big time saver for both maintenance teams and compliance reviews.
