I think @Cloner is doing tissue cultures if I remember correctly…
Would doing this be any different than rearing orchids from seed @Cloner? I’m asking because I have set up a flow hood and everything else before to raise the orchids from seed, and I’ am wondering if it’s pretty much the same process. If it is, I can set up a room in my new place to perpetuate cultures
I have run clone cultures for orchids before, so it has to be around the same process.

Only a little.

Media and hormone levels would be the biggest difference.

Yeah, I’ve got years of tissue culture with a variety of critters. Zero cannabis. Making me competent for much of the process, but not enough to sell said advice unless asked explicitly by folks who grok my skillset.

I think I might give it a go once I get settled. I know there’s going to be a hell of a difference because the growth rate of an orchid is so damn slow. ESPECIALLY when compared to a plant like cannabis. I have some reading to do! Plenty of time to read up on it before I try anything.

Well it aint easy…

Using tipical MS media was a bust in most of the kalus regenerated trials… But some people dialed it down quite fast…

Do not belive the Latta et.al. that data seems to have some problems when trying to replicate it…

Also the indica and sativa seems to be a really different story when gone through same TC m3dia experiments

Yep, getting corn to go was a bitch too…until it wasn’t.

I remember throwing everything including the kitchen sink (caffeine, estrodiol, testosterone) at cotton. PhD in charge checked what we had on hand. Lab was led by Carl Djerassi

I had my eye on this kit and media but never took the plunge.

Those work. You will need to do R&D on what auxin and cytokinin ratios to use with your agar blends, unless you find someone willing to consult.

Ive used those phytotech kits at a few facilities until they get bulk agar, salt, and hormones otherwise. Make sure you immediately open the boxes when they arrive, some of the cytokinin and auxin hormones need to be refrigerated or frozen.

Dm if anyone wants info. Consults avail, prefer zoom/video until the pandemic settles a little more.

Yes sir that is correct! Flow hoods are very cheap on the gov. surplus auction sites. They usually need new hepa filters and a thorough cleaning but you can really save some coins with a little effort. Fl. Always has good gov. waste equipment…

Moonymoondawg on IG is a very reputable TC consultant. I’ve been in multiple facilities he set up, they were all very satisfied with his services
