How quick would the inside of a jacketed part rust if water was left inside the jacket?
Bad to do not a big deal?

It shouldnt ever rust if its the proper stainless steel.

Stainless can oxidize, but it will not oxidize into rust. It can form a greyish oxidation layer if its 304 and exposed to harsh conditions. If the standing water is not distilled or at least RO water you may run into issues with limescale etc.

Good point, Always use clean filtered water! Tap water has no place in the lab unless its in the sink!
