Hey everyone quick question for you. I have 4 new strains I ran this time, all in the same room, same everything. Their all 8-9 week strains, I just starting week 8
3 strains are looking great exactly what I’m wanting to see at this stage, one strain though is staring to turn yellow on the tips and a sides of the buds. I’d still like to see a bit more cloudiness before I cut, but its close enough to take.
the yellow on the buds is not something i really ever see, what do you guys think is causing it? To much light ? or a nutrient issue, my lights are all 1000w DE HPS that cover a 4x4 ish area. I already dialed them back a notch as I usually do at around this time. any suggestions . thanks

Some strains have a different ph preference/tolerance.

Sounds like nute lockout. Pics are best

I mix my own nutes, Hp has been mid 5’s to 5.7, but I do let it climb to 6, generally run 2 to 2.5 EC but I have already dropped back to about 1.2 EC the last week, then I’ll go to flush. I’ll try and get a couple pics. Hp or lockout would make better sense as its just one strain, and its not liking what its getting. I’m also in rookwool

When you say “mix my own nutes” please explain your mixing.
I use Jack’s 321 and getting them mixed in the correct order is paramount. Please advise on details. Hope we can help you get those ladies back on track.

I mix from raw salts, been doing so since the 90’s, started out with what they called the 6 pack, but I have a strong handle on mixing my nutes, order, Ratio’s and environment. I ran the same strains for years, so basically just repeat each grow, so I very very rarely had any issues, as my rooms are dialed in to what I was running. and my rooms have no bugs, never , I have clean rooms.
lately I’ve been running a bunch of different strains, Some may require just a little adjustment to the feed or something but nothing to much, This grow I have 4 different ones in one room, 3 look good ones the odd ball lol. its not liking something, while the other 3 are fine, the more I look at it I think its to much light? but not sure, thats why I asked here as this is not something I seen in years.

So the 3 pics are of a bud thats got the yellowing on it, as you can see its more on the side of the bud that the light gets, so it could be to intense and washing it out, the other pic is off one of the strains just for reference, its just a very small bottom bud, but the tops look the same just bigger and a little better. This was just a test run for this for this stuff to see what i’ll keep, other then the raw salts it only got kelp. No silica or fulvic this run.
Looks like light burn to me

If you dont own a meter but have a decent to good cell phone. Download the photone app from your phones marketplace and tell us what the ppfd ends up being. That will help take some of the guess work out if it truly is a light issue.
Dependant upon how good your front camera is will be how good your measurements are. Not perfect but will get you an idea. I have used a lux meter to calibrate the phone app. Hope this helps and its free.

Thanks for posting pics @MellowedOut . Truly helps. That indeed looks like light burn (bleaching). Good call @FicklePickle and @stimpy .
Otherwise your flower looks great.
