I have a SPD installation but I have no idea what will be the min and max of crude oil fill up of the boiling flask in order to get some distilled fractions.

More than half is best. The lower you start the harder it will be to run or even the thermometer to see the temp accurately or at all.

Like the king said. I usually do 3.0L-3.5L. Be careful of a big off-gas muffin if you have any alcohol/hexane/pentane left in your crude. If you do get ready to regulate vac somehow.

Between 60-70% full. Too full will muffin into your head.

As long as you don’t rush your decarboxylation stage, at 60-70% max, you should be okay.

I generally throw in 3L of material in a 5L flask.
