Graphene-like material made from hemp waste

Apparently hydropyrolized hemp yields a graphene like material very useful for energy storage. Anyone looking to capitalize on their leftover hemp would be well advised to look into this process. It does not even seem difficult.

Yeah, now our batteries are made of weed :face_with_monocle:

Now we gotta extract the oil, turn it into a cartridge. Take the spent material, make our own battery for the pen.

God, weed is way more complicated these days; used to be able to just set it on fire.

That article is from 2013, so I was curious to see if anything came of it. Looks like the researcher that figured it out patented it and now works with Alternet Systems who are still developing it as of February this year. Cool stuff!
