Does isolating a cannabinoid leave pesticides behind in the mother liquor

Greetings GLG,

Does pesticides carry over after isolation of cbd?

It can! Depending on the pesticides and the initial concentration and the number of recrystallizations. This is by no means guaranteed and you have to test the resulting isolate on a case by case basis. Best option is to remediate the pesticides mostly through other prostprocessing means

Theoretically if you have a 99.99% isolation any pesticides should come back “none detected”, generally your ppms will be well below the required limits. If there was pesticides in your starting solution before isolation then they most likely will be in the mother liquor, you could run conventional chromatography or DCVC on the mother liqour and possibly separate any other cannabinoids from the pesticides, then roto for solvents.
