Can delta-6-cannabidiol be cycled directly to d8 without d9 as an intermediate product?

if one were to do a base catalyzed isomerization of CBD to d6-CBD, then an acid catalyzed isomerization to THC, would it bypass D9 THC and go straight to D8?

You would need 100% of the CBD to convert to d6-CBD or remove any residual CBD before the second reaction

If I had delta 8 CBD I would just sell that instead of converting it to something everybody can already make.

It s psycho active according to the papers
So no need to convert
Hmpa the solvent that is crucial and scary and tedious to work with

There’s other things you can use

I’m not using HMPA with tert butoxide

There’s precedent that production of a schedule 1 intermediate can make the end product unlawful, this route(if viable) might avoid that

Using tert butoxide to get to D9
As claimed in the WHO paper is indeed viable and
Althou 2 steps nice but for cbd-D6 in high yield
I have not been able to find any solvent other than hmpa
Maybe I ll pick the project up again one of these day s damn been 2 years last time I did some trails on this
Time fly s
Guess cbd-6D and cbn-d in high yield are the
Last singel noids that interest me
Cannabinoid \ salt complexes have my attention now and those are endless
(And probably useless at the same time :joy:)
But still having fun that’s what counts

I’m going to get into making cbe and probably cbo

I’ve found a substitute for hmpa for d10, no idea if it’ll work on cbd but it should as most strong bases need a catalyst to help break the base apart
