Cabon Scrubbing.. Let it settle or not?

Interested If anyone has any data on the following: After carbon scrubbing is there any advantage to letting the carbon settle before filtering? Or can it be filtered right out of the reactor? Im not concerned about the condition of the filter, I just want the best product possible.

I wouldn’t let it settle. The carbon does cling to a lot of the oil/EtOH mix so it needs to be rinsed thoroughly otherwise you could be seeing some pretty significant losses. Also do not let the oil and carbon come in contact for extended periods of time. Activated carbon should be sourced so that it does not affect the pH but if left in contact for a long time it will start giving you pH issues. Don’t try to cut corners, just do your scrub, rinse, and toss the carbon.
