That’s wild…
Rubber mallet is probably best.
And they shrink after it gets cold and they have to be torqued again.
@Dred_pirate @PharmExOregon Bros hit us up…we have brand new clamps and gaskets of all sizes in stock. Better pricing than BVV or HFS but Glacier Tanks quality!
I wouldn’t get the invoice paid anyway.
Damn homie…hmu…I might be able to swing you something…being an OG an all. Don’t want you dying on us…you’ve still got much to teach
I would just buy needed parts out of pocket and “steal” oil as compensation but thats me lol. Or don’t take the oil and keep stuff u buy as yours.
I won’t run the equipment if I don’t feel it’s safe. I’ll sit there and stare at the fucker for a week, I don’t give a fuck. They can’t make me operate it when it’s not holding a seal.
Fuckin right
Well when he’s ready to crack open his wallet and you want to see what affordable quality looks likes come visit us in Murrieta. Or call me and I’ll send you pics of inventory. Our website is in the process of being updated and overhauled.
That goes for anyone on here that needs parts, systems, media
Some of the clamps are even my own. Technically the equipment doesn’t assemble unless I use my personal parts. Which includes my crc and filtration. Along with needed clamps and gaskets.
And for what its worth double nuts work in a pinch or all the damn time. I’m not suggesting neglecting regular replacement or looking for superior components. I’m just saying if all you have is brass double nut it.
Read further up when I mention the leak first happening. I double nutted it when the nut originally broke.
A guy died up in Canada a few months back when he lost a brass nut on a CO2 machine. Stay safe.
He was using C02 in a machine not rated for it, but it’s a perfect example of what can go wrong with just one clamp not being good enough.
One time back when I was running CO2 I forgot to vent the last 50psi before taking off the honey pot. As soon as I took off the second bolt the tri clamp shot off just past my knee and busted a hole in the wall. Always gotta remember how dangerous this work is!
You can’t FIX it, but you can KILL it!
I’ve had a 12” lid hit me in the upper chest once at about 40psi because I got chatty with some buddies when I was pressure testing and released the fasteners on the collection before fully venting the n2. Knocked me out cold twice and had bloody marks and bruises for many months after. The guys watched it and have trauma because of it. They don’t come to the lab anymore. I think it changed me a bit. Definitely pay most attention now.
One of many horrors I’ve encountered honing this craft of ours…
Yeah, my very first run I didn’t vent the extra pressure off of my material column before I took the clamp apart. I took said clamp apart, and my material column shot about 3’ straight up. I’ll never make that mistake again!
The first dispensary I worked at, my first day there, on my first run in front of the boss. I popped the column (confetti’d the room) and I haven’t done it since.
Holy fuck that’s crazy. That’s a total nightmare scenario for me lol, nothing like getting a manhole shot at you with 4500lb of force behind it. I’m sure you’re aware but you’re lucky to be alive
Yah I was right up on it staring at the gauge as it hit me and sent me flying back like 3 feet and I landed right on my back. I tried to play it off like I was cool but when I got up and stepped outside the work area, I started feeling dizzy then started to realize what happened had a panic attack and passed right out and hit my head. My buddies were there to wake me up and then when I did I looked at my chest, had another panic attack and passed out again! Luckily I was already laying down. Never went to the hospital. I recouped, bandaged up my wounds, finished pressure testing my rig, and extracted the night away. Man, gets me worked up just thinking about it… lucky for sure. Thanks for your words @SidViscous.
