Bidirectional question

When switching to bidirectional, where are you guys putting filter plate? I’ve seen on either top or bottom. Why would you not want one both, top and bottom? Then you run a flood from bottom that channels back to collection, thru the shower head? Or is it better to have a secondary vent port? Currently running 3" column. TIA

You’ll want filters on both ends if you’re flowing solvent directly into your collection pot. I’ve taken to using a bag filter between columns and collection so the operator has fewer clamps to undo.

Using a separate port rather than backflpwing through your showerhead means you won’t have to swap hoses or use three way valves to achieve the desired plumbing

filter plate as in sintered disk? None on material column, filtered reducers on both ends with 5 micron felt is what I use. You need to keep the weed out of the hoses and valves.
