Looking to buy Alcatel 2021SD. Idealvacs is where I’m considering buying. Can anyone comment on the quality of their rebuilds? Quality of rebuilds generally? Any better pump recommendations for a 2L short path?
Bring me whatever they quote you and I’ll beat it…

Thats a good pump for a 2L, but I wouldnt necessarily pay $1500 for one when ive bought a few off ebay for ~400 and got them down to 1 micron with a few flushes. Another good pump would be an edwards e2m28.

You were a lucky one with the “ebay challenge”.
Its hit or miss buying used. I just sold a rebuilt 2021i for 1500. I paid 1500. Imo, I’d rather pay and “know” vs taking an “ebay challenge” vac pump.

True that I did get very lucky three times and the fourth one i got had a broken motor. (Although I put a working motor from another one on and eventually got it pulling to 3micron). The pumps were from three different sellers and the insides of two are pretty disgusting. Paying an extra thousand for whats essentially a brand new pump is definitely worth it if youre not looking to gamble (or if you need a working pump asap)
